Today when you make a VOW to God, Does He still hold you to it like He did in Old Testament Times?
We were talking about that subject, and I thought I would pose the question to my friends in here..
What do you think?

Absolutely, you should keep your vow. God will hold you to it - just as in the OT.

Matthew 5:33 “Again you have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not swear falsely, but shall perform your oaths to the Lord.’ 34 But I say to you, do not swear at all: neither by heaven, for it is God’s throne; 35 nor by the earth, for it is His footstool; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the great King. 36 Nor shall you swear by your head, because you cannot make one hair white or black. 37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

Nevertheless, there is always forgiveness for us sinners.

In Christ,

dear neighbours, humbly since we are counting down the to-days , just as the early church[christians/jew/gentile], were held accountable for thier word/promisses : ie.Acts 4:31 thru 5:11., i know we as well are held accountable.___they who continued to walk/talk the word of Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ were greatly blessed in those early todays also , just as some are even in our todays._____with love/peace/understanding GOD bless yous all, in the name of the Lord Jesus, HIS and our CHRIST.---A-neighbours.....d a n i e l

G'day Chucky!
God does hold us accountable for every word that comes out of our mouths... that being said, Peter promised Jesus he would never deny Him yet that very day he denied Him three times. God will forgive us if we repent but will hold us accountable for everything we won't repent of.
The new covanent offers a solution to our inability to be perfect as Christ is perfect. Instead we can be perfect "in Christ" which means we may stumble and fall but Christ is there to pick us up by the miracle of His Holy Spirit if we repent. Our indiscrestions are washed away by the blood of Christ which in the old testament amounts to the people having faith in God. Hebrews 11:4-31
