Does anyone know any more information about these following three books?

The book of the annals(or chronicals) of the kings of Isreal (1Kings14:19)

The book of the annals(or chronicals) of the kings of Judah (1Kings14:29)

The book of the annals(or chronicals) of Solomon (1Kings11:41)

My bible states that these records of Isreal and Judah were the main sources of material God directed the author to use to write 1 and 2 Kings. And that no copies of these books have been found.

Just curious!

None of those books are in anyway part of the Word.
Like Enoch, Judith etc, they are books written that dont belong in the Bible.

The Bible as we have it now is the inspired word of God written by man through the Holy Spirit.

Be very careful of those types of Books, the new cults, which claim we can all be one, just change the Word a bit subscribe heavily to those type of books.

If you want to read them for enjoyment, I suggest you read the Bible 3 times first, and then know the truth.

Thanks for responding :)

Sorry! I must not have asked my question correctly.

These three books are mentioned in the bible. These books are not for sale to read. They are mentioned in the Bible many times : 1 Kings 14:19, 1 Kings 14:29, 1 Kings 11:41, 1 Kings 14:19,1 Kings 15:31,1 Kings 16:5, 1 Kings 16:14,1 Kings 16:20, 1 Kings 16:27....ect.

I was just wondering if anyone could give me anymore insight on these books mentioned in the bible. I love digging into the word.

Your bible buddy,
Barbi

I just realized, putting several blogs together that
its all on the same subject, those books are refered to in some catholic bibles,I just pulled one out( I have 7 bibles)
,I had recieved this one as a Chritmas gift. And , now as I turn the pages I have found references to some of the books you refer. This also seems to be part(not sure) of another bloggers question about the apcryphal. Just found a lead, but as Moriah says , one must walk in faith and carefully.
I also enjoy delving into the word.

Hi Barbi,

This is my first time posting! So, hopefully I'll be able to make sense :)

Yes, these books are indeed intriguing aren't they? God's Word is so cool!
To my knowledge and research they have not been found as of yet, but what a find they would be!!
They seem to be simply a record of the reigns of the kings. The annals of the kings of Israel, would be a historical record of what each king of Israel did during his reign, just as the annals of the kings of Judah would be a record for the kings of Judah :)
We actually see this all over ancient history! Archaeologists have even found the names of certain kings of Israel and Judah in some pagan kings records. For example, in the records of Tilgath Pileaser lll, king of Assyria. It's fascinating stuff...history plays out just as the Bible says it does!! Fancy that eh?

Anyway, as far as those books go, some have speculated that they may have been written and complied by the prophets of God contemporary with each king, and passed on as a written record.
Others stick with the traditional view that the scribes of the kings simply recorded the events as they saw them. Either option is possible! But one thing is for sure!! While they would not be scripture, it would be so cool to read them!!

God Bless!!

Just wanted to correct my spelling :)
It's actually Tiglath Pileser lll, king of Assyria :)
You can find him in the Bible in 2 Kings 15:29!
